FIU in DC Fly-In
During my time in Washington DC I was able to learn about preserving the Everglades and methods for restoration. Through this my group and I had to form a quick research project on climate resilience and how FIU could incorporate more initiatives to raise awareness on Everglades restoration. From this trip I learned how to advocate on the Hill by meeting with congressional representatives and visiting different agencies.
Tuesday Times Roundtable
One of the most impactful Tuesday Times Roundtable sessions I attended was "The Power of Artificial Intelligence- Enabling or Disabling Mental Health and Wellbeing". I found this session the most interesting as I was able to learn more about the development of AI and how it affects our daily lives. I never realized the impact of AI on our own mental health until I heard the personal stories from the speakers at the event. Not only did I think this session was impactful, but it was inspiring to be around other students that also recognized the impact that technology has caused in human interactions and within mental health.
