    • Throughout this course I was able to learn about the history of different Latin American countries and compare how corruption affected the development of these countries. This course made my passion for Latin America grow as I was able to enhance my knowledge on the impact of historical situations within the growth of such regions. This course also inspired me to undertake the project of investigating the territorial dispute between Guatemala and Belize by researching the history of both regions.

    • During my semester in FIU in Washington DC, I focused on a policy project advocating for more democratic integrated systems and inclusive approaches for Central American countries. The entire course helped me learn how politics and advocacy work is done, while also conducting my own research project.

  • IDH 3035: Diplomacy Lab

    • ​Diplomacy Lab is a U.S. State Department and university research partnership program, and is offered at FIU through the Honors College.  Students form a group to tackle foreign policy challenges and work with Department of State representatives to build a final product.

    • Throughout the semester, I worked on a research project on the topic of Illicit Importation of Oil by Mexican and Venezuelan Transnational Crime Organizations (TCOs).
